Alternative Food Support Options in Spelthorne – February 2024

MONDAYS:

Stanwell Foodbank 9am to 1pm

The Community Cafe, temporarily based at Stanwell Youth Centre, Hadrian Way, Stanwell TW19 7HE Here they can offer freshly cooked meals using surplus food. In order to access the foodbank a referral is required where possible. This can be obtained from any professional.

Food Bank: most people come with a referral however in some circumstances the Social Transformation Pastor will complete an on-site referral.

Surplus food is also available to everyone with or without a referral. They also provide a light breakfast, pastries, fruit, teas and coffee.

The Citizens Advice Bureau (CAB) is based there on Mondays 10am -12pm.

The Haven food bank, surplus collections. Tea, coffee and cake available for everyone.

There is a short church Service, but with no obligation to attend.

Thursdays is The Haven Community Lunch Day. This is for everyone in the community.

The local housing association A2 Dominion run an Advice Hub. Also a team can help with finances and benefit advice, plus offering support with gas and electricity for those living in the TW16 postal area.

There is a Surplus Shop where they provide good quality food which would otherwise go to waste. The Surplus Shop is open for everyone who needs fresh produce. They do ask for a donation of what you can afford. For safety and security reasons they cannot allow queueing before 11:15am (i.e. 15 minutes) before they open the shop, so please make sure you turn up later than this time.
