23 July 2024: Recent meetings of Corporate Policy, Resources Committee and full Council update

Following the recent meetings of Corporate Policy and Resources Committee and full Council, on 23 July 2024 the Chair of the Environment and Sustainability Committee, Cllr Malcolm Beecher wrote a letter to the Planning Inspector to request the resumption the Examination in Public for Spelthorne’s new Local Plan. The letter has been published on the Local Plan dedicated website. It is likely to take around two weeks to hear back from the Inspector and his response will be published promptly. If he decides to resume the Examination in Public, the Inspector would give a minimum of six-week notice.
Papers from Corporate Policy and Resources Committee on 8 July 2024 and the meeting of the full Council on 18 July are on the Council website.
On 21 June and 1 July respectively the Council received comments from the Environment Agency on its updated Strategic Flood Risk Assessment. They can be viewed on the dedicated Local Plan website here and here. The Environment Agency sent a further email to the Council on 18 July, shortly before the meeting of full Council which can be viewed here.
