Why: Asphalt Preservation Surface Treatment
When: 11 September
Duration: For 2 nights. 8pm to 6am
Where: From j/w Feltham Road to county boundary
ROAD CLOSED

As part of Surrey County Council’s commitment to improving roads and pavements, Clockhouse Lane, Ashford has been selected for Surrey’s Asphalt Preservation Surface Treatment programme.
Advanced warning signs have been placed to notify of these upcoming works, and Surrey Highways contractor will send a letter to nearby homeowners/occupiers a few days prior to confirm the works starting.
The works are expected to be completed predominately at night and will be open to traffic early the next morning. During the treatment process, the road will be closed to through traffic to allow for the product to cure and for road markings to be applied. It is essential to keep the road free from parked vehicles to enable the work to proceed as planned.
Access for residents will be maintained wherever possible, although delays are expected. If you need to make a journey during the works, please plan for leaving your vehicle outside of the planned treatment area. Once the treatment has been applied, there needs to be sufficient time for the product to cure (approximately 1-2 hours). Vehicles cannot drive through the works site during this time until the product has cured.

Please Note: The work is weather dependant and can be delayed by bad weather or other factors. Please look at Surrey Highways information boards on site for date changes. Please talk to a member of staff on site if you need help – they are keen to deliver the work with minimal disruption to you. As part of Surrey County Council’s commitment to improving roads and pavements, Clockhouse Lane has been selected for works as part of a scheme called Asphalt Preservation which preserves, protects and extends the life of the road surface. The first set of works will be pre-patching to prepare for the preservation treatment works in September.
⛔Please Note:⛔
It is essential to keep the road free from parked vehicles to enable the work to proceed as planned. Surrey Highways will make sure you can get to and from your house or business when it is safe to do so. Please talk to a member of staff on site if you need help – they are keen to deliver the work with minimal disruption to residents.
Working overnight is necessary on traffic sensitive roads to reduce disruption during peak times. It also enables longer uninterrupted working before the closure is lifted for daytime traffic, and results in a shorter period of disruption.
There will be some noise, but Surrey Highways will try to carry out the bulk of the noisiest works before midnight.
