**** Repost ****
As part of Surrey’s Local Street Improvements Programme, a scheme in Lower Sunbury is being developed with design funding from the Department for Transport.
Local Street Improvements schemes can make streets in communities safer, healthier and more attractive, with appropriate vehicle speed limits and improved facilities for walking, wheeling and cycling.
Following a first round of engagement in Autumn 2023, which provided ideas and views from local residents and organisations, proposals have been developed for Lower Sunbury.
Surrey County Council (SCC) now want to obtain views from the local community on these latest proposals to help shape the plans in Lower Sunbury. They would like to hear from people who live, work, study, travel through and spend time in the Lower Sunbury area.
The proposals have been split into several focus areas based on the places that received feedback during the last stage of public engagement. The proposals are displayed on individual pages for each focus area and can be accessed via https://lowersunbury.commonplace.is/. You have until Sunday 20 October to provide your views on the proposals using the survey. Feedback can be provided on one or multiple areas that are relevant to you.
Residents are encouraged to submit feedback through the online survey, however you may also send your views by email – localstreetimprovements@surreycc.gov.uk (SCC regret they are unable to reply to individual email responses).
Letters have been mailed to all addresses within the scheme boundary area to notify them of the engagement period and inviting their comment.
Please note, funding is currently only secured for the design of this scheme. Once the design process is complete, the council will seek funding to construct any finalised plans as and when suitable opportunities become available. Depending on the amount of funding that becomes available, SCC may need to prioritise the delivery of individual elements of the proposals.
