ASHFORD TOWN BY-ELECTION 19th JUNE – VOTE INDEPENDENT
Dear Resident,
In 2023, I had the honour of serving as the Deputy Mayor’s Consort alongside my wife, Liz Baldock, before she sadly had to step down due to illness. I worked closely with her to help raise funds for local causes and visited many parts of Ashford and the wider borough. We met so many kind, passionate people and those experiences truly deepened our connection to this community.
Since then, I have been working behind the scenes with the Independent Spelthorne Group as I share their commitment and dedication towards improving OUR Town. This gave me the drive to take the next step and stand as a councillor. I want to dedicate more time, care, energy and heart to supporting residents in Ashford and across Spelthorne. I believe in listening, responding, and taking action not being tied to party agendas.
For me, it’s about people, not politics.
Unfortunately, we have seen misleading information circulated during elections by some political parties. This happened in the last by-election, when false claims were made about the ISG candidate and councillors. It was reported to the Electoral Commission, they confirmed that while campaign materials must include an imprint and avoid personal attacks, the content itself isn’t regulated. It’s up to you, the voters, to decide what to believe.
Independent Spelthorne Group stand for honest, respectful, and transparent campaigning. We will never resort to tactics that divide or mislead we are here to work hard for you and earn your trust every step of the way.
If you elect me as your councillor, you will have someone who always puts Ashford residents first. I will never be bound by party politics. My only focus will be on supporting our local needs, solving real issues, and helping to build a community we can all be proud of.
