What: ROAD CLOSURE (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Notice 2025)
Why: Surrey County Council to carry out replacement of bridge height signs and/or carriageway maintenance works
When: 03 March 2025 (for 5 days).
However: works are anticipated to be completed between the hours of 9:30pm and 4am within 2 nights of this period. Advanced warning signs will be displayed and the temporary prohibitions will only operate when the relevant traffic signs are displayed.
Access for emergency vehicles, pedestrians, and dismounted cyclists and equestrians will be maintained at all times. Access for residents and businesses will be maintained at all times via the vehicular diversion route: – Anti Clockwise – Laleham Road, Worple Road, Kingston Road (Non-HGV) Staines Road, The Broadway, Ashford Road, Kingston Road, A308 Staines By Pass, A308 London Road, High Street, South Street, Thames Street. Clockwise – Thames Street, High Street, Clarence Street, Bridge Street, Hale Street, Mustard Mill Road, High Street, A308 London Road, A308 Staines By Pass, Kingston Road, Ashford Road, The Broadway, Staines Road, Laleham Road.

Surrey County Council in exercise of its powers under Section 14(2) of The Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 and of all other enabling powers hereby gives notice that:
1. No person shall cause or permit any vehicle to enter or proceed in that length of: – a) B376 Thames Street, Staines upon Thames that extends from the northern side of its junction with D3287 Richmond Road, to its junction with A308 South Street. b) A308 Thames Street, Staines upon Thames that extends from its junction with B376 Thames Street, to the centre of its junction with A308 South Street.
2. No person shall cause or permit any vehicle that is proceeding in a south-westerly direction on A308 South Street, Staines upon Thames from turning left into B376 Thames Street.
The prohibitions referred to above will not apply in respect of anything done:
a) with the permission or at the direction of a police constable in uniform
b) in accordance with any restriction or requirement indicated by traffic signs placed on the highway by or on behalf of the Police.
