With a focus on safety and investment in our highways, and supported by Surrey Police, Surrey Councillor Harry Boparai is pleased to announce speed reduction measures are being proposed for the following roads within Sunbury & Ashford Common.
Where?
The Drive, Ashford
Napier Road, Ashford
Alexandra Road, Ashford
Scotts Avenue, Ashford
Where they meet the footway along the northern side of the A308 Staines Road West.
What?
The proposed raised tables will provide pedestrians and cyclists with a near-level surface on which to cross the side roads and should also act to slow vehicle speeds.
These features form part of a wider improvement package that seeks to improve
Pedestrian and cycling facilities along the A308 corridor between Fordbridge Roundabout and its junction with the M3 at Sunbury Cross.
The proposals also align with the overall Local Cycling & Walking Improvement Project (LCWIP) for Spelthorne, which includes looking at options to tie other improvements into each end of the A308 corridor.
