Key roles at Spelthorne Borough Council confirmed following the 22 May Annual Council Meeting

Cllr Joanne Sexton was elected again to hold the position of Leader of the Council for the third year.
Cllr Chris Bateson who represents Staines South was re-elected as Deputy Leader.

Spelthorne’s New Mayor

Cllr John Doran was elected as the new Mayor of Spelthorne.
First elected as a ward councillor for Stanwell North in 2019. He and his family have lived in Stanwell for 50 years, supporting local organisations such as the Stanwell Family Centre, the Stanwell Local Conversation, Stanwell Food Bank and local Scout groups. He is married to Cllr Susan Doran and they have two children.
The new Mayor nominated four charities he will be raising money for during the year:
Surrey Care Trust:
offering mentoring, skills training and support to families, young people and adults in Surrey
1st Stanwell Scout Group:
providing scouting to boys and girls aged 6 to 14
Families Thriving Together:
providing inclusive access to parenting support and advice
Spelthorne Museum:
a volunteer run museum showcasing the history and archaeology of Spelthorne
Cllr Sandra Dunn was elected as Deputy Mayor
