This is a statement from Spelthorne Council on 13th June 2025
The Council are aware that a notice of application for a premises license has been displayed by Golden Slots in reference to the Adult Gaming Centre, 39 Church Road Ashford and we recognise the concern this is causing in the community.
We can confirm that this application is not valid and have informed the applicant of the process required.
Once the application has been validated by the Council, residents and businesses will then have 28 days to comment on the application. Details of the timeline and how to make representations will be clearly communicated to residents on our website.
The gaming centre applied for a planning application, which was refused by Spelthorne Borough Council three times, which led to the applicant appealing to the Planning Inspectorate where a public hearing was held on the 26 March 2025. The Government Planning Inspector then approved the application with a planning condition of operating hours from 9am – 11pm.
